NATIONAL RELAXATION DAY

Anastasia here but I don’t have a craft to feature today. Instead, I’m talking about  #NationalRelaxationDay. Didn’t know there was such a thing, did you? Neither did I. It’s one of those unofficial holidays, and it’s celebrated every year on August 15th. It’s a day meant for taking a break from our fast-paced, hectic lives, not that I can just take off and kick back today, but wouldn’t it be nice?

Researchers have found plenty of evidence to conclude that stress often leads to all sorts of health risks. And boy, do I know stress! I’m in debt up the wazoo, thanks to Dead Louse of a Spouse gambling away all our savings. But that wasn’t enough for him. No, he also cashed in his life insurance, raided the kids’ college accounts, maxed out all our credit cards, and took out a second mortgage on the house. Oh, and did I mention he also stuck me with his sleazy loan shark who’s demanding fifty thousand dollars? But that’s not all. I’m now also stuck with my communist mother-in-law as a house guest resident, and I keep stumbling over dead bodies.

We all know relaxation reduces stress. I’m lucky if I can find the time to take an occasional deep breath, much less anything else. However, for the rest of you there are many ways to relax. One suggestion for spending part of National Relaxation Day is to read a book. Not that I have time but you probably can find some. Pour yourself a tall glass of lemonade or ice tea, put your feet up, and settle in with an Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery. Reading about my stressful life will not only alleviate your own stress, it will also give you a few good laughs.

If you’re already up-to-date on all my adventures and patiently (or impatiently) awaiting the next book in the series, I suggest you check out Sleuthing Women: 10First-in-Series Mysteries where you’ll be introduced to nine other cozy, amateur sleuth, and caper mystery series by some of my favorite authors. For a limited time this ebook boxed set of ten full-length novels is available for only .99 cents.
